Honnavar: Five injured in communal clash, situation under control

Honnavar Dec 2 (DHNS): A day before Eid Milad, communal violence at Chandavar in Honnavar taluk on Friday over temporary installation of replica of Prophet's tomb left five people injured.

As a precautionary measure, the police have taken over 25 people into preventive custody and have deployed additional forces at sensitive and hyper sensitive areas.
Situation continues to be tense, though it is under control, said the police.

Kamalakar Naik, who sustained head injuries, is being treated at a hospital. Naik is stated to be serious, but out of danger.

A peace committee meeting organised by the police recently had adopted a resolution against temporary installation of replica of Prophet's tomb within 20 metres radius of Chandavar circle.

A few youths violated the resolution and attempted to unfurl the green colour flag. As the news spread, a group of people rushed there and installed a pole with a saffron colour flag which led to tension, said the police.

Soon, a large number of people gathered at the circle. Situation went out of control after BJP leader Suraj Naik came to the circle and claimed that a few miscreants had stoned his car at Sultankere.

Sensing the danger, the police directed people to move away from the circle, but there was response to the direction. The police caned the mob to control situation.

The police clarified that there has been no complaint over the incident.

Chandavar in North Kanara is a small town where people have been living in PEACEFUL HARMONY. It is sad and unfortunate that communal clashes should take place in this area.

One of the binding factors is that hindus, Muslims and Christian speak the same KONKANI and KANNADA Language. Hope people will join and hold PEACE MEETINGS and resolve the situation once for all

If one look into to the beautiful 'Rainbow' it has all the colours for their imagination. But God has never discriminated made the nature perfect. Our trees are full of Green which given us essential Oxygen to breath.
The colurs are natural and one should respect the gift of God.

At the same time one's love for religion is his personal choice. But dragging the religion for colours is condemnable.
I would like the Karnataka Home ministry ban all kinds of banners, bunting, scribbling on walls regardless of their religion affiliation or presiding functions or festivals.

Let everyone loves his religion kindly plant at least fruit bearing trees so that its support the living and for our future.

Here in udupi or mangalore the decoration and rally of eid milad had not came under any issue just because muslims here almost matured to tackle any chaddi sanghi disturbance. The district police in udupi not file even suo motto single case on togadia or vhp leader for making dangerous hate speech and allowed long flag and banners to moove on national highway with provocative slogans on samajotsava.Muslims organisation also not filed any complaint may be because the high court cancelled the FIR before related to hate speech. If green flag or banners can fly in mangalore then why not in honnavar. The muslims of honnavar must learn some self relient lesson from believers of dakshina kannada.

    Clash of colors!

Politicians can change their colors easily but for a common man, he has to live with his color all his life!!!

When you ask a blind person,' which color he wants to see?, he will say 'all colors'!!! It wont make him a democratic or secular person but it is his need of the hour but when he gets the luxury of seeing all colors then he become bias with colors!

You dont need to be a rocket scientist to figure out why a place is called 'sensitive '. They cannot co-exist with others.
