Thanks to IT department and ruling government for saving India from becoming another Venezuela. It is the duty of every citizen to pay the due taxes to the government. In a longer run, it is good for everyone. Indians should come out from the mentality of tax evasion and should think that it is like stealing money from government. It is every citizen's duty to help IT by identifying tax evaders. This is a patriotic duty of all the citizens.

Mr. Valerian Dsouza, Udupi/Mumbai.... u r asking on politicians... recently it was done and caught a big fish named Mr. DKS. drilling is on. Good actions by IT teams. yes, we are not getting to see any end results or executions on these defaulters. that's the problem. Many have written for to these raids , but also lot has raised concern as what actions were taken on these culprits. Nothing at lease we the public knows. So, yes, good actions. but we are looking for end results like their properties are seized and used for public benefit. also, let the doctors doesn't come in Tax free zone. Each transaction should come under GST and to be tracked. Not to suspect them, just to ensure all share the IT burden equally. Not only 3 / 4 % of the public takes the complete burden.... all , politicians, doctors ... all should pay IT. But seeing current aggressiveness of the current central govt lead by Modi, I feel very soon this is going to happen.

I am sure.Sucking poor mans blood.

Well done by IT but not enough. Impose 1% GST on all medical transactions. Nothing should be tax exempt. All non-profit organizations should pay at least 1% GST and may claim it back through IT returns. The purpose here is the accountability. Some religious entities get huge donations and no one knows where that money goes. May be some of these entities are functioning like clearing houses for unaccounted money. If taxed, both the donor and the recipient will be accountable.

Why not raid to Politicians and Ministers who amazed crores and crores of unaccounted money?
Money unearthed through Tax evasion, whether genuinely goes to Govt treasury and common man stands benefited?
Or action is merely show off and raided money is dealt with and shared among themselves and common man is smartly fooled?

It's a tip of an iceberg. When the medical fraternity becomes sensitive to money-making, the humanity suffers. Verily the medical fraternity prescribes, but God who heals without a penny!

Whatever collected in cash and spent as expense by these people can be hidden

    But following cannot be hidden:
    1. Assets they purchase like jewellery, car, land, buildings, furnishings and other luxury expensive items.
    2. Their spend on foreign travel
    3. All other expenses which requires PAN.

So to some extent all these will come out.

Pay cash before being treated has been the motto of private doctors.
Next IT target should be religious institutions who receive foreign donations and do not declare. Will they dare enter?

i have been saying since long medical, hospital, diagnostic & other so called professionals who mostly deal in cash from start to finish are the biggest tax evaders.

Unfortunately our so called leaders at the centre still favour no GST or most GST exemptions to these sectors. Charge at leaset 1% GST on all bills & make sure "No Bill - Don't Pay" policy.

Mr Shaan, Most people are corrupt because sytem makes them corrupt. Most Doctors earn their money in cash and whatever is earned in cash does not get taxed. kamini may be a big fish among those but allmost all doctors have black money as their fees are earned in cash. therefore credit should go to Modi for bringing in sytemic changes which will reduce accumulation of Black money.
