Bengaluru, Nov 30: Former MP and cine actress, Ramya, in reply to rumours making the rounds about her political moves, clarified that she is not interested in state politics and that she has no intention of fighting the coming assembly election.
Ramya celebrated her 36th birthday at a simple function organized in the city on Wednesday November 29. She said that she has not received any instruction from the high command to contest the coming assembly election. "I will obey the top leadership of the party and am ready for anything," she added.
There had been rumours that Ramya will fight the assembly election from either Mandya or Basavanagudi constituencies and there were speculations that Ramya would be given ticket from Mandya in place of Ambareesh.
In the light of these developments, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee working president, Dinesh Gundu Rao, said that he is not aware about fielding Ramya in assembly election, duly adding that there is no question of neglecting Ambareesh, who has the stature of being a state level leader, at any cost.
