Mangaluru, Nov 29: Mortal remains of Safwan(24) from Katipalla, who had been abducted by a rowdy gang from Suratkal and murdered, were found from Agumbe ghat area on Tuesday November 28.
Family of Safwan said that funeral of the deceased youth would be performed at the central mosque here on Wednesday November 29, after collecting samples for DNA testing.
Safwan had been kidnapped on October 5. It has been over 50 days since he was murdered. Therefore, only skeletal remains could be traced. The police, who found that clothes worn by Safwan were tossed at a nearby spot, took the same into possession.
The search, which was conducted at the spot shown by the accused, lasted for several hours. It is learnt that Safwan's father, Abdul Rahiman, has identified the mortal remains of his son.
