Bengaluru: Flipkart founders booked for cheating businessman of Rs 9.96 crore

Bengaluru, Nov 28:  The founders and directors of e-commerce major Flipkart have been booked for cheating a businessman to the tune of Rs 9.96 crore. 

The Indiranagar police here on Monday November 27, registered an FIR against Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, the founders, and other representatives of the company after they received a complaint by Naveen Kumar, the manager of a company named C-Store. 

As per the complaint, C-Store had supplied around 14,000 laptops and other electronic goods to Flipkart to be sold on the online platform. Flipkart returned 1,480 units out of the supplied laptops. But it did not pay C-Store for the rest. 

The complaint also says that Flipkart did not pay the shipping charges either. 

Police have booked the founders and other representatives of Flipkart under IPC sections pertaining to cheating and criminal breach of trust. 

Investigation is going on.
