Belagavi, Nov 24: "The state government is planning to establish a separate university on police investigation," said home minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday, November 23.

He was replying to a question raised by Tara Anuradha from BJP in the Legislative Council.

"The proposed university will help the state police adopt modern technology in the investigation of crimes and cyber crime. The home department is also spending Rs 80 crore for upgrading forensic science laboratory in Bengaluru," he added.

Tara said that the police personnel are using the traditional methods for the investigation of crimes.

Tara also demanded the state government to come up with a policy for implementing welfare programmes for police personnel.
