Karkala, Nov 23: Nandalike Chavadi Aramane Suhas Hegde has been chosen as the president of the first ever global level get together of Malnad Engineering College, Hassan (MCE)'s alumni (global alumni get-together). MCE happens to be one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in the state backed by a history of six decades. The get-together has been titled 'MCE Karavali Meet - 2017'.
Other office bearers: B Kiran, general manager of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd(MRPL), happens to be the general secretary while vice president of the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers South India,Vijay Vishnu Maiya, has been made convener. Vaman Shenoy of Shenoy Diesel Services Mangaluru, is the treasurer. Jageep Suvarna of D R Suvarna Group Mangaluru, Mangaluru city corporation commissioner, Muhammed Nazeer, joint commissioner of Mangaluru city corporation, Gokuldas Nayak, managing partner of Trident Mangaluru, Saju Neliyar, group general manager of MRPL, M Susheelchandra, Mangaluru-based entrepreneur, Vinayak Prabhu, architect and proprietor of SKS Netgate, Sanat K Shetty, general manager of Total LPG Ltd, Umashankar, Santhosh K Shetty of Designers Associates, TPI for department of explosives, Suresh Shenoy, general secretary of Karnataka Petrol Distributors Federation, Vishwas Shenoy, entrepreneur, Prashant Shenoy and some others have been chosen as directors.
Malnad Engineering College, which functions under Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi, has been identified as one of the best engineering colleges in India. It bagged the Indian Society for Technical Education's 'best engineering college' award in 2007. In 2016, International Business Centre identified it as one of the best engineering colleges of Karnataka. Thousands of people who graduated from this college are serving in top positions all over the globe now.
It is proposed to hold MCE Karavali Meet - 2017, which is the get-together of the college's alumni settled all over the world, on December 23 and 24 this year at Mangaluru. Over 500 past students of the said college are expected to take part in the meet.
