Puttur: Car-bus collision – one dies, four seriously injured

Puttur, Nov 18: One died and four passengers sustained serious injuries after a car and private bus collided at Ichilampady on the way from Dharmasthala to Subramanya.

The incident took place in the morning of Saturday, November 18.

The bus was coming from Bengaluru and was going to Subramanya via Dharmasthala. The car was moving from Udupi towards Dharmasthala. When both the vehicles collided, a person from the car died and four sustained serious injuries.

Overspeed is blamed as the reason for the accident. The impact of the accident was so bad that both vehicles have been damaged heavily. The bus settled in a place away from the road.

Injured persons have been rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru.

Bus driver fled from the spot.

Police reached the accident place and are investigating.

    Theses buss coming from Bangalore, in early morning they are driving like ROCKET, i am daily early morning going through bike from Muniyal to Karkala. so many times i have stop my bike in a side while seeing these buss. Even in turning they are coming in wrong route. If they are hit also, they will not stop the buss. no one is bother others life.

    why not speed limits are made mandatory for our roads which are constantly . especially heavy vehicles being always the reason for accidents which are on the rise. steps have to be taken before it gets worse.
    no following of traffic rules and driving recklessly.only suspension cancellation of license will bring down accidents.
