Bengaluru: Doctors' strike - four more die including girl from Puttur

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Nov 17: Four deaths were reported on Friday, November 17 due to non-availability of medical service because of the doctor’s strike.

After the doctor’s strike started early this week and called off on Thursday, OPD services in many districts in the state have returned to normalcy. But the situation is still bad in many parts of the state including Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

On Friday, three persons including a woman died as they could not get timely medical attention in Yadagiri district. The deceased have been identified as Fathima Begum of Kadamgera, Shivaraya, both from Shahapur taluk and Ramu from M Hosalli in Yadagiri taluk.

The doctors of private hospitals in Yadagiri have continued to strike work because of which the OPD services in the district are hit badly. Many people with serious ailments from Yadagiri and other Hyderabad-Karnataka districts are going to Hyderabad in Telangana for treatment.

A girl from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district, who was suffering from kidney failure, died on Friday due to unavailability of dialysis.

Pooja from Kabaka, a B Com student at Vivekananda College, is the deceased.

On Thursday, Pooja had developed complications and was rushed to a government hospital in Puttur, where she died a day later.

Pooja could not get dialysis as usual as the private hospitals in the town were shut following the doctors' strike.

The IMA chapters of Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Dakshina Kannada and several other districts continued their strike on Friday, opposing the proposed Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Bill.

Doctors job is money minting job. Their aim is to earn more money and not to save the life of the sick persons. there is no ethic for doctors to go for strike. Govt. was also adament to solve doctors crisis which should have been solved earlier. So both doctors and Govt. is responsible for so many deaths.Let both of them jointly pay the compensation to the family members.

The way doctors and people think deaths took place only because of "doctors strike" that means before in Karnataka nobody died or once doctors issue is solved there will not be any deaths! Guys think over it. How many people died when doctors on duty, doctors or rather hospitals negligence. It's all part of life. Death is sure nobody can stop it. Doctors are also going to die. Please disregard this death issue. Govt. is implementing the law for the benefit of the general public let us support that, so that the general public is benefitted.

@Astrologiy Predictor Karnataka, certainly people die even after and before strike ,neglectin g before too.But there is a big difference, between seeing a patient neglect and die whereas a care would have saved life.and with a careless negligence without knowing patient would die.Now hope all these people can sleep without having a pinch of feelig of neglected and died .That young girl has not seen the worlds beutiful things. But doctors can enjoy their money ,where blood (Souls) of dead people cry for justice.what a pitiable condition of dead, patients.was it the oath made to serve people on their day of final day forgotten?I cant and dont think right now.May the souls rest in peace.Hertfelt sympathy to their familys.

I do Agree with you mam. I never said I don't have any feeling. Its like my own family person mam. What I am telling is, when some one dies don't tell if doctors was there he or she would not have died! See the time strike started you saw the caption of the news is "It makes to feel that because of doctor's strike". Doctor is not God as per our belief. Doctor or medicine can only postpone a patients death. Unfortunately doctor himself is going to die, even after the best of the best of the best treatment. Anyway let the govt. solve the problem and save the patients. God heal all those patients as of now who are not under the care of striking doctors.

When Education becomes business,We need to face all these things. Our great politics is indirectly killing our people.Kill Politics(cians also) then we will have a new Yuga.Doctors are not killing.

Make education less expensive first then all the other things will become cheaper.Education is indirectly connected to other commodities.

The girl died in government hospital...because dialysis was not available in private hospital?
The news to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Only out-patient services are closed. Emergency services, dialysis, chemotherapy for cancer patients are available in all the private institutions. There are many institutions in Mangalore where dialysis is available.

So far only Private Hospitals Owners Association has called off the strike .But actual Indian Medical Association has not called off the strike yet .They have decided to indefinitly keep the OPD Services closed till the Govt of Karnataka Takes back the draconian KPMEA bill .Many Doctors are on fast unto death strike and they have started developing weakness due to lack of food.Condition is grave .Still the Govt has not woke up
