Bengaluru to Hubballi in 30 minutes! - Hyperloop transport to cut down travel time

Daijiworld Media Network -Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 17: If everything moves smoothly as per current expectations, in about three to four years from now, people can travel from one corner of the state to the other in 30 minutes, if the two points are connected by hyper-loop system. Karnataka government has entered into an agreement with Hyderloop One, which is involved with the production of high speed pod-based transportation system, to conduct preliminary study about the feasibility and economic impact of this system on this region.

This system is said to be the fastest mode of transport invented and economically viable. Karnataka Urban Development Authority has entered into this agreement, which was signed by IT-BT and tourism minister, Priyank Kharge, with Hyperloop One at the Tech Summit which went underway in the city on Thursday November 16.

The company will undertake study on Bengaluru - Tumakuru, Hubballi-Dharwad and Hosur segments. In addition to studying the practicability, advantages and disadvantages of the system, the study will also check whether this project is financially feasible.

If the study gives its thumb up for the system in Karnataka, a person can cover distance between the city and Hubballi within 30 minutes, which is much faster that the air travel. Speaking after signing the agreement, Kharge noted that the city which is an IT hub of the world that is growing rapidly with leading IT companies having centres here will benefit from the system. He felt that if modern technology like hyper-loop is introduced, Karnagaka will be on fast track of progress.

Already states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh have signed similar agreements with Hyperloop. Hyperloop is a pod-based terrestrial transportation system which can carry passengers or freight through a near-vacuum tube at airline speeds. Though the 'hyperloop' concept is the brainchild of tech billionaire Elon Musk, there are many other startups developing pod-based transport through near-vacuum tubes. The tube through which the pods move is positioned at a little higher over the ground and the pods do not touch the tube that has magnetic properties. These pods are expected to move by using magnetic properties up to speed of a thousand km per hour once the experiments succeed. Elon Musk, who was the first to conceive this dream system in 2013, has conducted tests on the system in the desert at Nevada, USA, and these tests have been successful. Till recently, no one had come forward to make heavy investment in this system, but after Richard Branson of Virgin Airlines announced to make heavy investment in the project, more countries have evinced interest.

If the plans move smoothly, the project might materialize by the year 2021 in India.

It's amazing to see how many people really believe in this. I am not saying that this is not possible but its mode of transportation that might be possible in 200 years time.

What all people need to realise is that Hyperloop is only in small-scale testing stage. Currently, the track is only few hundred metres. Also there are lot of problems associated with making the tubes stong enough to make it a vacuum or thermal expansion.

I would at least believe that Chinese might do such thing first since that has the only magnetic levitation train in operation. But its laughable that we in india would do something like hyperloop. We cant even seem to have mastered in building a flyover, let alone a over the ground tube stretching hundreds for kilometres.

There is a reason why countries like US, UK, France have not implemented this technology yet. These are expensive technologies and look good on paper. But in a country that sees protests for 1 rupee increase in railway or bus fares how are people going to afford this.

We can talk about opposition for great ideas. But let us assume you have a salary of 50k per month and you buy a ferrari which has a yearly service cost of Rupees 2.5 lac and insurance of 2 lacs. How are you going to make ends meet.

Some times we realize, why phase of our country's progress was quite slow!!!
It's due to harsh opposition for all good projects initiated by them like, viz. Aadhar, GST etc.
Opposition's strategy:- Oppose all good projects initiated by Govt, just to ensure that they can blame the Govt for not doing enough development and opposition party to implement it at later stage when they form Govt.
So that credit of implementation doesn't go to the one who originally mooted the idea,0
But to the one who stole and hijacked the idea!

My eyes got stuck to the word HYPERLOOP.
What!well if it comes into a reality then this is wonder .UAE govt has already signed this hyperloop connecting all the 7emiratesFrom Fujairah to Abudhabi, work will begin from 2019.So if the most magnificent country delays it by two years ,then I am sure our state will also initiate slowly. But if it comes to existence, bengaluru heavy traffic will be limited and some of bluru population will shift to Hubbali. That will be great relief from congestion.

Suppose if there is a straight water pipeline between Bengaluru and hubballi then what is the time it takes to move one molecule of water(h2o) using best world class pumping system?
I think it is less than 30 minutes.

It is really great to have these kind of facilities in our State.

But before this you need use your resources to other high priority areas like public healthcare and drinking water.

Public health care is still a big mess. People do not have access to good doctors, good hospitals and good ambulance system. Please fix this on an urgent basis.

Drinking Water crisis is usual in summer in most of the places. Please try to fix it on an urgent basis.

If accident happens will take just 30 seconds to go up above the sky by loosing life.

Anyway, good move. Development is surely a need of an hour but by not compromising the safety. If it has fool proof safety then one should happoly accept such development.
