Puttur: Illegal cattle transportation - traffickers try to attack police

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Nov 17: A police team from the town police station here raided a spot where cattle were being illegally loaded into vehicle on Thursday November 16 morning. The incident occurred in Kedila village near here.

Sub-inspector of the town police station here, Ajay Kumar, got reliable information that an effort was being made at Sattikallu in Kedila village to load vehicles illegally into vehicles for being transported elsewhere. He immediately led a police team and reached the spot at around 4 am. When the police raided the spot, the accused tried to attack the police team, it is learnt. When the police fired in the air, the accused escaped under the cover of darkness, police said.

The raid was conducted under the guidance of town station inspector, Mahesh Prasad. The accused, who perhaps did not realize that the raiding party comprised of police personnel, suddenly prepared to attack the personnel with cudgels in hand. When the police fired in the air, they retreated and fled from the spot, Mahesh Prasad stated.

Four persons were involved with the incident and police personnel are conducting investigation to identify them. 12 cattle which had been put together for being loaded into pick up truck were taken into possession by the police. It is suspected that these animals were planned to be taken to Mangaluru. Investigation is continuing.

some people comments on selected subjects especially where there is a scope for blame bjp/rss... they are not really worried about the society but simply enjoying by blame game & feel that they achieved something. there is continuously cow theft cases are being registered in police station & published in media also. but nobody worried about that instead indirectly support them. what is the reason for supporting this kind of criminals? is this also comes under a freedom of stealing the wealth of other people.

Only Solution is the Government should issue new slaughter licences for every Municipal city area. Once people have licence then there wont be any illegal transport. Let the buyer buy the animals from farmers and slaughter at nearby abattoir .
The Gorakshak teams is all drama by jobless youth who are banking on communal violence. Why they are concerned about old animals when they themselves don't have job to earn a three times meal.
The Police have lot of other work to do and keep the city more secured. The cow transport whether legal or illegal is not a threat to the society.
It is more dangerous to allow the youth to beat up someone who has paid the price for the animals and if this continues then there will be chaos all over the country.
There is a natural cycle where a given number of animals are born and killed at a given point of time.
If this is controlled then there will be cows every where on roads and streets and there will be dead animals every where in few months.

    Anybody blaming Modi for this?
Fact is ,this illegal slaughtering has been going on for several years.
But under political pressure, no action was taken.
Now the police have to act , otherwise gaurakshaks will do it in Thier own crude way.
    Better police act first.

I agree Cattle Theifs do not have blood in their eyes, it was better if they were not existed in this world. Just giving hard times to others in the society coz they were not disciplined and educated enough to live in the society

Vinayak Baligas aged parents were crying daily to get the Justice for their son who was murdered brutally but none of the organisations supported aged parents.

    Rajesh
Instead of complaining others what action you have taken to help the
aged parents of Baliga ? And you know there r several other parents who's
childern have been killed and till date no action by govt why don't you talk
about them too why only particular incident ?that too in relation to the above news
    of illegal cow slaughter ?

Rathan I agree with you I cannot do anything for parents of Baliga. But certain organisations can do a lot. I support organisations morally and financially who take care of the orphans and destitutes (with in my budget)
Belive it or not organisations can do a lot for the society even in giving justice.
