Bengaluru: Doctors' strike claims four more lives, death toll climbs to 12

Bengaluru, Nov 15 (DHNS): Four more patients, three from Bagalkot district and one from Tumakuru district, have died on Wednesday as they could not get treatment due to the ongoing private hospital doctors' strike against the proposed KPME Bill.

As many as 12 people, including three children, have died in the state since Monday.

A 39-year-old Vittal Bhajantri, resident of Bhajantri Galli in Mudhol, Bagalkot district, died due to heart-related ailments on Wednesday. Bhajantri, a weaver by profession, could not get timely treatment as the OPD services at the private hospitals were shut following due to the doctors' strike.

When the government brings certain new rules which are really harmful why not they have
have proper arrangements done for emergency purpose and then declare their rules
as the general poor people have to face the brunt. For those politicians and the officials who took rule
in hand in any way have their personal medical help on time.

Wel ,lthe doctors of private hospitals striked they closed the hospitals.Knowing or not knowing many people tried to go to private in case of emergency, later was not able to get in tried to go to Govt.By the time serious patient had no chance of survivals .People should have directly go to Govt.hospitals first .The treatment at govt.isnt or was already too much for the immediate attendence.Mostly in medical
sector ,when someone want to strike ,has to first always assure of emergency cases to attend and have a team ready so that no life should be lost.Only Emergencys. How it came to this disaster ,I cant explain.whether in India is different?May be in the said places ,situation is quite different?Sad two lives are lost.Heartfelt sympathy to the familys.

Of late doctors have become pawns in the hands of hospital owners. They should generate certain amount of income to retain in service. Its a well known fact. HOSPITALS IS NOTHING BUT BUSINESS HOUSES. Govt has every right to protect people from such doctors

The only solution left is developing the infrastructure and providing better medical facilities in government run hospitals. The government hospitals in Delhi run by AAP government have shown the way. Government hospitals are far better than private hospitals there. Karnataka government should ask for their advice without feeling that it is below their dignity.

Govt should hear to doctors' genuine grievances. Govt should not be autocratic in this regard. At the same time doctors should not stop emergency services. If emergency services are affected public will see doctors in bad light.

Why don't people understand that good health care does not come without a price. If poor people need a health care system equally efficient why can't they upgrade government set up. They are doctors who have put in day and night to come to where they are. Now if they fight for their rights in Wat way is it inhuman. Corruption and illegal things will increase if uneducated fools in power decide about medical care.

The point to be noted here is, in all cases the families preferred the private hospitals and not the government ones. The government needs to ask itself why this is so. Instead of holding the private doctors responsible for these deaths, it is time the government takes some responsibility for the dire situation it has brought the private healthcare into. In some cases of yesterday, the patients apparently died in govt hospitals after initially going to private ones, or were sent from govt to private hospitals. That just shows the inadequacy of the govt hospitals to treat emergencies!

Ego of one person that is Health Minister Ramesh Kumar is the sole cause of all these .He wanted to improve Govt Health services and found that there were no specialist Doctors so gave one news paper Advt asking for recruitment of Fresh Specialist Doctors at the salary bidding method .Drs came asked Rs 2 lakh and above salary .He could not accommodate Many Doctors and thus by vengeance against the Private Doctors has brought this KPMA 2017 amendment through which he can punish Doctors he thought .Many MLAs and even CM didnt like this Bill .Still Ramesh Kumar is adamant .He is not bothered about t he health of karnataka People ?He threatens to resign if his amendments are diluted he says why is it so?CM should immediately sack him and not accept the amendments of KPMEA
