New Delhi, Nov 15: "Congress party is doing its best to divert the attention of the public from Income Tax (IT) probe that is being carried out against Karnataka energy minister D K Shivakumar (DKS), by saying that we are trying to intimidate DKS to join BJP," said Prakash Javadekar, union minister for human resources development and Karnataka state in-charge of BJP, on Tuesday, November 14.
He also said," What is the need for BJP to approach a Congress leader, who and his family members are under the IT inquest? Congress is spreading these baseless allegations against BJP out of sheer frustration as one of their ministers is allegedly tainted,"
It might be recalled that chief minister Siddaramaiah had recently accused BJP of trying to woo DKS to join their party.
Javadekar further stressed by saying, "BJP will win by a huge margin and form the government on its own in the coming assembly elections in Karnataka. The anti-incumbency factor against the Congress party is helping BJP to win easily. Karnataka BJP has able leaders. There were some indifferences between leaders which have been resolved amicably now,"
"Party is holding 'Nav Shakti Sammelan' in the coming three months for booth-level workers of the party. Each of the 54,000 polling booths will have a committee. We already have committees for 75% of the booths and the remaining ones will be covered by the end of this month," he added.
