Bhatkal, Nov 15: “More than a hundred people have joined ISIS terrorist organization from Kerala. The result can be seen in the coastal districts. I will root out terrorism from the coast the very next day I come to power," said BJP state president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.
He was speaking to reporters at Murdeshwar here on Tuesday, November 14. "Chief minister Siddaramaiah is responsible for PFI and SDPI organizations being active in the state. It is necessary to take suitable action against the outfits," he said.
"Suvarna Vidhana Saudha is a symbol of pride for Kannadigas but the government is not interested in governing from there. Siddaramaiah-led government does not want to shift some of the offices to Suvarna Saudha and see people there. It is sad that lacs need to be spent just for cleaning the place.
"Nobody is interested in holding sessions here. Two ministers and a few MLAs were there on the first day. It is the final legislative session for Siddaramaiah as chief minister. Though a farmer committed suicide just a short distance from the Suvarna Soudha, the CM did not go to sympathis with the bereaved family. Another farmer killed himself before the last session. It shows that the government's loan waiver has not reached the farmers," he said.
Criticising the state government over the proposed amendments to Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act, Yeddyurappa said, "Nearly 42,000 private doctors are on strike in the state. More than 70% of the people depend on private hospitals. The chief minister and the health minister do not agree with each other. People in the state will be put to hardship if the problem is not resolved even after discussions. Government hospitals have not improved during the last four-and-a-half years. New doctors are not appointed. Generic medicines of the union government also are not promoted. The state government has completely failed," he said.
"There is a scam of Rs 300 crore in the purchase of laptops by the education department. Therefore minister of higher education, Basavaraj Rayareddy should resign. The government has transferred those who exposed the scam and is protecting those who are involved in the scam,” he said.
Asked if protests during the winter session urging for the resignation of minister K J George would not cause injustice to people of north Karnataka, he said that the Supreme Court had ordered for an investigation. "CBI has registered an FIR against George as the prime suspect but the chief minister is protecting him. Let George resign for the smooth progress of the session,” he said.
He said that sufficient discussions have been held regarding justice Jagannath Shetty Commission and Justice Ramachandra Commission. "Our government will control terrorism soon after assuming power."
Asked about electricity purchase scam he retorted, "Was the government was sleeping for the last four-and-a-half years?"
BJP vice-president Sriramulu, chief secretary Shobha Karandlaje, Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, former minister Shivananda Naika, Haratalu Halappa, former MLA J D Naika, V S Patil and others were present.
