Mangaluru, Nov 13: 4-day state level ‘Pavitraatma Abhishekotsva 2017, concluded on Sunday, November 12. Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bengaluru, as part of the concluding programme of the Convention released the souvenir and fifty balloons in memory of the fifty years of Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church.
Dr Moras then offered the Holy Mass concelebrated by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza the Bishop of Mangaluru, Bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhy of Beltangady and Bishop Jerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi and 110 priests.
In his address Dr Moras said that the Catholic Church has experienced the power of Holy Spirit powerfully during the last fifty years. “Thanks to the gift of the Renewal the Catholic Church is enriched with innumerable spiritual gifts. The Clergy, Religious and Lay faithful have discovered the true meaning of their call and started to live accordingly,” he said.
Bishop Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Episcopal Advisor, spoke on the power of the Holy Spirit. Fr Franklin D’Souza of Shivamogga diocese preached on Mother Mary as model to Christians. “Because of Mother Mary’s ‘Yes’ Jesus the Son of God became a human being like us and revealed the mercy and love of God to the humanity,” he said.
Fr Jose Vettiankle the Director of Logos, Bengaluru conducted the Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament.
Fr Onil D’Souza the convener of the programme compeered the days programme.
Fr Melwyn Noronha the Spiritual Director of the Service Team proposed vote of thanks.
Around 25,000 people participated in the worship.
