Mangaluru, Nov 12: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday November 12 launched a verbal attack on chief minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress-led state government, accusing them of scams and claiming that they had 'destroyed the state'.
Addressing a press meet at Hotel Gold Finch here, Yeddyurappa said, "The Parivarthana Yatra was successful in Dakshina and will now proceed to Udupi, and from there to Karwar. The Yatra received positive response in Bantwal, Sullia, Moodbidri and Mangaluru.
"The rape charges against Congress Karnataka state in-charge K C Venugopal and the series of scams of CM Siddaramaiah have becoming the talking point now. Siddarmaiah has said that his government is providing good administration and has asked us to prove the scams. There is denotification scam, BBMP scam, Hublot watch controversy, Govindraj diary controversy, controversy on Siddaramaiah's son's laboratory... the list goes on. The government is surrounded by scams and controversies.
"It is claimed that nearly Rs 4.6 crore has been spent for road development under BBMP, but we can see potholes everywhere in Bengaluru. These potholes have even claimed lives. With this money they could have concreted the roads in Bengaluru," he said.
"Lokayukta has been defamed and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has been brought in, which is being misused. There are 30 cases against Siddaramaiah with ACB but so far no FIR has been filed. The ACB has been converted into a 'clean chit organisation'. All the cases should be handed over to the CBI, only then will the truth be revealed.
"Rape-accused K C Venugopal and corrupt chief minister Siddaramaiah are destroying the state. Venugopal should be expelled his position as Congress Karnataka in-charge," he said.
"Siddaramaiah has said that his government stands with the backward classes. But there are reports that in Chamarajanagar, low quality uniforms were provided to school children, even though Rs 75 crore was spent on this.
"There has been complete faliure of law and order in the state. Women are harassed and they are not feeling safe. The police department is under government's control and morale among the police personnel is low," he alleged.
"Dakshina Kannada is a sensitive place. There have been Kerala-influenced attacks and murders likes those of Sharath Madivala and Prashant Poojary. It is also said that Karnataka has links with ISIS as there are agents in Mangaluru, Kasargod and Karwar who recruit youths to ISIS. KFD, PFI and SDPI are involved in immoral activities. It has become a challenge to provide safety to Dakshina Kannada.
"It is unfortunate that Congress leaders are involved in sand mafia in the district and there has been no sand for the people to construct houses.
"Drug mafia is the main reason for the faliure of law and order in the district. Instead of controlling drug mafia, the drug mafia is controlling the government," he claimed.
"Siddaramaiah has been repeatedly telling us to disclose documents to prove our charges. We will disclose the documents during the legislative session. He gives such irressponsible statements. Anyway, he will be in the administration only for three more months, then he will go back home.
"CM Siddaramaiah has no concern at all for the state. He is one of the most irresponsible chief ministers the state has ever seen," Yeddyurappa said.
