Bengaluru, Nov 12: In an accident which happened on the elevated overbridge at Madivala here in the early hours of Saturday November 11, over a hundred vehicles moved over the body of a person who was knocked down by a vehicle.
The identity of the accident victim is yet to be established. He appeared to be aged between 45 and 50, and found to be wearing dirty clothes with unshaven face and long hair. Traffic police said it appears that he was a beggar.
The man was walking on the elevated overbridge of BATPL at around 2.30 am on Saturday when he was hit by a vehicle. He died on the spot. The killer vehicle moved ahead without stopping. As no one noticed that an accident had happened at the spot, over a hundred vehicles moved over the body as a result of which the body was dragged to a distance of about 40 feet from the accident spot, it is gathered.
The body has since been sent for postmortem. Based on postmortem report, police hope to establish the victim's identity. The traffic police came to know about the incident about an hour after the accident. A police officer said that this incident was the result of inefficient toll patrolling in the area.
