Mangaluru, Nov 11: Mangaluru east police on Saturday Novemeber 11 intercepted a Maruti 800 car and arrested two persons possessing a large quantity of ganja.
The arrested are P Raghu (38) and Prakash (26), both residents of Belur taluk, Hassan district.
They had brought the ganja from Andhra Pradesh and were transporting it to Hassan for sale, when the police intercepted their vehicle and arrested them.
Mangaluru east police inspector, sub-inspector and staff intercepted the car in front of Mangaluru rural station old building.
Ganja weighing 11 kg, valued at Rs 3,30,000, two mobile phones and Maruti car worth Rs 50,000 were seized from the accused.
The operation was conducted under guidance from central sub division assistant police commissioner Uday M Nayak, crime and traffic division DCP Uma Prashant and law and order DCP Hanumantaraya on orders from Mangaluru police commissioner T R Suresh.
