Mangaluru, Nov 11: BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Eshwarappa on Saturday November 11, while referring to the Muslim community, said that those who slaughter cows are not true Muslims, and are anti-nationals.
He was addressing BJP's 'Nava Karnataka Parivarthana Yatra' which reached the city on Saturday evening after passing through Bantwal and Moodbidri. The formal public programme was held at Nehru Maidan with about 3,000 to 3,500 people in attendance.
In his address, Eshwarappa said, "All Muslims are not communal or anti-nationals. But some among the Muslim community slaughter cows, and such people are not true Muslims. They are goondas and many of them anti-nationals too. They praise Pakistan and chant 'Pakistan zindabad'. But chief minister Siddaramaiah supports these people without taking any action on them. He has no words to speak against them. It shows he is interested in only one community. Other religions are neglected by him. This will be his last term as CM. If BJP comes to power, the first thing we will do is pass anti-cow slaughter bill in the state.
"BJP president Amit Shah has already clearly said that Yeddyurappa is the future CM of Karnataka. What Narendra Modi thinks for the nation will reflect in our state under the leadership of Yeddyurappa," he added.
Eshwarappa targeted chief minister Siddaramaiah and said, "Siddaramaiah had earlier said that Narendra Modi would not become the Prime Minister as he was 'communal'. But then Modi became the PM. Now Siddaramaiah is saying that he will continue to be the CM for another term in Karnataka. But the opposite of what he says happens in reality. That means Yeddyurappa will become the next CM.
"Siddaramaiah and Pakistan have not yet realized what India is and what its citizens want. Both think that only they are right," he said.
Criticising the CM over Tipu Jayanti, he said, "Siddaramaiah has Tipu Sultan's blood in him, that is why he is so interested in celebrating his birth anniversary. He has forgotten the massacre of 60,000 Christians at Tipu's hands and is instead hailing him for his 'bravery'."
BJP president B S Yeddyurappa said, "Nava Karnataka Nirmana Yatra is not about making me the next chief minister.
It is to rescue Karnataka from looters and the problems the state faces. This Yatra is to assure good life to the citizens of Karnataka.
"We started this Yatra with the intention of achieving Congress-mukt Karnataka. When Congress gets eliminated from society, automatically everything will become normal. Good days will automatically come. We are already witnessing this nation-wide.
"Coal scam, 2G spectrum scam, Commonwealth Games scam - all these are the products of Congress. But Congress president Rahul Gandhi is acting blind and deaf on these scams. He is speaking about GST and saying Congress will not back this tax reform. In front of Modi, our CM Siddaramaiah is a child, still the CM goes around saying that Modi fears facing him," he said.
"Under Congress' rule in the state, outfits like PFI, SDPI, KFD and other terror groups have flourished. They have killed many Hindu activists. Why is Siddaramaiah silent on these murders?
"K C Venugopal, the Congress state in-charge is facing charges of harassing a lady in Kerala. The commission which was appointed by the Kerala government has mentioned his name and ordered inquiry. Congress should explain this," he added.
"It is my request to the people of the coastal districts, please support us and elect BJP candidates in all the 8 constituencies of the district," he urged.
Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda said, "Ministers from Dakshina Kannada Ramanath Rai and U T Khader are not responding to the problems of the people. KPCC president Parameshwara says he will not participate in the Congress Yatra. Now Rai and Khadar should explain to people in which Yatra they will participate - Who will they support? The CM or the party president?
"Now Karnataka is being ruled by Alibaba and 40 thieves. They are busy looting the state and its people. As much as
92% of the people of Karnataka have been against Tipu Jayanti, but the government did not care for them. So this is the time to throw away the Siddaramaiah government and bring Yeddyurappa to power," he said.
Madhu Bangarappa said, "Siddarmaiah is a liar. He is interested only in publicity. He is not in favour of the poor. He and his party are engaged in corruption, hence it is time to send him home. The people of Karnataka have already rejected him. In the coming election he will be sent home officially."
Sriramulu said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to make India one of the most powerful nations in the world. Ever since he became the leader of the country, he has worked without taking rest and without any care for his personal interests. He is focused on developing the youths of India and is busy implementing various programmes for them. So Indian youths should stand with him.
"Siddaramaiah has challenged Hindu sentiments. He went to Dharmasthala after eating fish, and when questioned, he replied he would go to temple after eating chicken too. It shows his behaviour. He is not fit to rule the citizens," he said.
MP Nalin Kumar in his address said, "With the end of this state-wide Parivarthana Yatra, Siddaramaiah's era will also come to an end. The Yatra is getting huge support everywhere. In Dakshina Kannada it indicates that in the upcoming elections BJP will win all eight seats.
"Today the entire world is praising India and Narendra Modi. India has developed and has become a competitor to the USA in terms of development. Even US President Donald Trump has accepted this and is praising Modi. Our country has succeeded in stopping Pakistan and China from creating troubles," he added.
"Modi has done many things for Mangaluru. I have the exact figures. If the Congress MLAs or ministers have guts, let them come in front me for debate," he challenged.
"Today the situation in Dakshina Kannada has changed. Congress is facing internal crisis. Finally, only Ramanath Rai will remain in the Congress and all others will leave," he added.
MP Shobha Karandlaje said, "The BJP government sanctioned the highest amount of funds to our district. Ramanath Rai, Khader, and J R Lobo should say what amount they brought for their constituency or district.
"The Siddaramaiah government has made a secret treaty about sharing the money sanctioned for various projects
Congress is supporting the terror outfits like PFI, KFD and SDPI. These outfits with the blessings of the government are committing murders of Hindu activists. It is our sincere request to the people to ensure BJP's victory in the upcoming elections. If we come to power we will stop Tipu Jayanti celebration," she said.
On the occasion, former Congress leader Harikrishna Bantwal joined BJP.
