Mangaluru, Nov 9: BJP MLA Aravind Limbavali on Thursday November 9 said that during the upcoming winter session of the state legislature in Belagavi, the BJP would raise voice against 'corruption' of the state government and demand the resignation of minister K J George over the suicide of DySP Ganapathy.
Addressing a press meet here after taking part in BJP's core committee meeting at Hotel Ocean Pearl here, Limbavali said, "During the Assembly session in Belagavi from November 13, we will raise voice against the corruption of the state government and failure of law and order in the state. We will protest against K J George in connection to the death of DySP Ganapathy and demand his resignation. If the chief minister fails to dismiss George by the start of the session, we will fight from the first day of the Assembly."
On BJP's Parivarthana Yatra, he said, "The Nava Karnataka Parivarthana Yatra was launched on November 2 in Bengaluru. It was supposed to enter Dakshina Kannada yesterday (Wednesday November 8), but due to the bandh in Kodagu, it got delayed. We condemn the district administration of Kodagu for allowing the bandh. The Yatra will now reach Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada on November 11.
He also announced a mega convention of the BJP on December 21 in Hubballi.
"Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the convention to be held in Hubballi. During our convention in Bengaluru, as many as 48,000 people from 17 districts and 113 constituencies participated. People from the remaining 111 constituencies will take part in the Hubballi convention," he said.
On strengthening the party from the booth level, Limbavali said, "New voters' list has been released at the booth level. We will have 20 persons from the SC/ST and Dalit communities joining as members at the booth level. The list will be finalised by November 30.
On the upcoming MLC elections, he said, "We have formed a sub-committee. Once the list is ready, we will send it to minister Prakash Javadekar and BJP state in-charge Muralidhar Rao and also to the central government."
To a question on BJP's claim that several Congress leaders were set to join the BJP, he said, "There are more number of people from the Congress joining the BJP than vice-versa. The number of people from BJP joining Congress is nil."
Responding to chief minister Siddaramaiah's allegations that BJP was trying to 'lure' energy minister D K Shivakumar, he said that the charges were absolutely false. Earlier in the day too, the BJP had dismissed the allegations.
