Udupi, Nov 6: Fr Valerian Mendonca, chancellor, diocese of Udupi blessed and inaugurated the newly constructed presbytery of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Perampally on Monday, November 6.
In his inaugural address, Fr Valerian Mendonca said, “The new presbytery has been built in just five months after the construction of the church. This was possible because of the support of the parishioners. Priests are important for any parish in conducting religious needs of the parishioners. They also need a proper place to stay. On behalf of the bishop of diocese of Udupi, I congratulate parish priest and all the parishioners for their support in building presbytery. We will be witnessing the blessings and inauguration of the new church shortly. May this place become the place of blessings of Our Lady of Fatima.”
Fr Romeo Lewis in his address thanked all the donors and parishioners for their support. “This presbytery came up in just few months because of the help and support of the parish pastoral council members and parishioners. The presbytery is about 5,000 Sq Ft of space with the office of parish priest, assistant parish priest, living room of parish priest and assistant priest, parish clerical office, rooms for guest priests and other facilities,” he said.
Rosy Pinto, sectrary of parish pastoral council compered the program. Denis Furtado, vice president of the parish pastoral council welcomed the guest.
The grand inaugural and blessings of new church will be held on Thursday, November 23 at 9.00 am.
