Bengaluru, Nov 6: After being bestowed the ‘SME Printing Company of the Year’ trophy in 2016 and other awards, Brilliant Printers, this year has upped its ante to bag the ‘Post-Press Company of the Year in India – 2017’, awarded by the International Print Week Magazine.
An eye for quality, a will to grow and the passion to aim big are the hallmarks of Brilliant Printers, which has once again enabled this Bengaluru-based company to work wonders.
The company’s 1,53,000 sq ft facility at Nelamangala in Bengaluru deploys modern technology that delivers consistency in quality and delivery and exports to more than 70 countries. Printing on thin paper is an art. Brilliant Printers has mastered this expertise over the years and has printed Bibles in more than 50 world languages. Brilliant is a fully in house printing company with a staff strength of around 450 and has the capacity to produce 2,00,000 books per day.
Most importantly, the urge to reinvent from time to time by restructuring, adopting new work flow, reviewing and implementing best practises and more importantly making the organisation lean, has paid off brilliantly for Brilliant.
The transformation of Brilliant has been stunning. It is amazing to see the meticulous attention that has gone towards designing the floor layout and the work done to make the operations a reality. All the post-press processes are under one roof, with a daily production capacity of 1,00,000 perfect bound books, 80,000 saddle stitched books and 20,000 hard cover books. The shop floor consists of fully automatic binding and finishing machines for case making, book block making, casing in, gilding, gathering/binding/trimming etc.
The firm pays a lot of attention towards regular preventive maintenance and keep their machines in excellent condition. With six sewing machines, four multi-clamp perfect binding machines, two flow line, one hard case line and one automated case making machine, it is a complete and compact unit.
Diligence, patience, an eye for quality without cutting corners, risk taking ability and focus on the gaol will keep any firm in good stead. Brilliant Printers has followed this principle in its journey of 47 years.
The company has come a long way from its humble beginnings under the dynamic vision, toil and solid foundation laid by its founder late A V Rego in 1970. The enterprise has been constantly further strengthened and expanded and is now ably managed by Irene Rego and her three sons Anil, Sunil and Manil backed by a dedicated team of professional managers. The commitment of the three brothers has been exemplary. The company has also made a special mark for its various initiatives in Corporate Social Responsibility.
