‘Phalyan Poleyan’ – the plot and actors
The drama revolved around two families living in the same neighbourhood looking for proposals for their sons. When a retired teacher arrives with his beautiful daughter in the same neighbourhood, both boys including their mothers vie to win over the girl without knowing the girl’s past life. Thus many hilarious situations follow. The drama ends with a strong message to the society about the true values of a family and importance of forgiveness.
All actors exhibited superlative acting skills. As comedian neighbouring couple characters, Alphons D’Souza and Helvin Barboza, Ramcy Fernandes and Lavina Fernandes were superb in their acting. As competing lover boys, Godwin Castelino and Royston D’Souza were great entertainers. As a comedian police Joel Pinto and in Kamthis role Nanu Marol evoked laughter. As an Aab (Grandfather) Paul D’Souza, snooty woman Joyline Pinto, as a young couple Vernon D’Souza and Venicia Rodrigues and as a helpless retired teacher Dainy D’Souza indeed added zest to the drama by their power-packed performances.
Pradeep Barboza matched his title as ‘Konkani Comedy Prince’ with his great acting talent, outstanding direction, excellent dialogue delivery and ever impressive natural acting skills.
Fantastic and timely synchronized back ground Music by Frankith Mascarenhas and support by Cyril Baptist was noteworthy.
Appropriate stage setting with first-rated sound system and brilliant lighting by Joel Crasta of Broadway Event Management enhanced the splendour of the event.
All performers and musicians were felicitated by SMMC.
Overall, the crowd enjoyed the drama immensely as the venue was fully packed and unremittingly busted with riots of laughter. Noteworthy performances, clean comedy and powerful message captured the hearts of audience.
