Mangaluru Oct 30: "BJP has no moral right to demand resignation of minister K J George over DySP Ganapati suicide case,” said district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.
Rai was addressing media here on Monday, October 30.
Demand for George’s resignation
“Earlier K J George had resigned when the case was under CID probe and after CID gave clean chit to him, he was reinstated as minister by chief minister Siddaramaiah. Just because George name is mentioned in CBI FIR, it does not mean that they should demand resignation from him,” Rai added.
“Even some union ministers have criminal cases registered against them. As a minister, George has done a tremendous job. He is targeted as he belongs to the minority section. BJP are known for making fake allegations and this has been proved several times,” Rai said.
Misusing of power
“BJP is misusing Income Tax department. They are raiding only Congress leaders. When Congress was in the administration, BJP labelled CBI as Congress bureau of investigation. Currently what should we label CBI?” questioned Rai.
“BJP is known for imposing Hitler policy and fascist policy like implementation of note ban, GST. Even they tried to defend Janardhana Reddy scam and nearly 60 per cent of the land in Bellary has been illegally encroached. Today Bellary has been beautifully built and well developed,” he said.
Tipu Jayanti
When asked about opposing of Tipu Jayanti, Rai said, “In spite of several oppositions, we will continue to celebrate Tipu Jayanti. Those who have a problem are free to stay away but should not instigate violence. When Tippu Jayanthi was celebrated an innocent was killed just with an intention to instigate communal violence.
Kalladka Schools
When asked about Lamani’s statement on stopping mid- day meal to Kalladka schools, Rai said, "There are several schools where poor children study. But why only these schools are selected to provide food in form of money? This was a heinous crime.”
