Kundapur, Oct 28: A thief who entered a house at Tonnase of Belve gram panchayat, with the intention of stealing the cow, got scared as the dog of the house started to bark and fell in the well, which was 20 feet deep, on early morning of Friday. Subsequently, he was caught by the locals.
Ganesha Poojary of Bukkigudde, Tonnase is the person who planned to steal two calves, aged two years, from the cowshed of Santhosha Naik of Doddakumbri, Tonnase.
However, he was caught by the locals as he fell in the well and could not come out of it. The vehicle which came with Ganesha to take the stolen calves escaped from the scene. A wooden stick supposed to be brought by the thief in order to scare the inmates of the house was recovered from the verandah of the house.
Shankaranarayana police arrived on the spot after they were alerted by the locals.
People assembled in huge numbers to see this funny scene. Finally the thief was lifted out of the well with the help of the locals. A case stands registered in this regard in Shankaranarayana police station.
