I don't understand the logic of our Police: Criminals faces covered and victim's face shown. By this way, these criminals don't get identified by public so that they can carry out their business as usual once they are out on bail

One simple question that is making me scratch my head:

Why do police in India parade accused in front of the camera while having everything above their shoulder covered?

Isn't it enough if the police release a press statement that 5 people have been arrested for the said offence? How long will the police continue with this age-old colonial practice that was used by the British to assert their dominance over the Indian masses?

It is amazing that the police in Britain do not consider arrest of a culprit as a photo-op; whereas most police stations in India always sees arrest of petty criminals as a photo-op. Why? I have not seen the CBI or the ED stoop this low publicity stunt, considering that they investigate much high profile and sensitive cases.

What we need is a police that 'investigates' crime and effectively prosecutes criminals.

    Abdul,
[I am omitting your Hindu and Christian names] These are degenerate people who prey upon gullible men and women; they should be exposed when arrested; their identity should be released; only when the matter is before the court there is a rule for hiding their faces from public who are not attending the court. That is the general rule, not a British practice in India but all over the world.

All of them send to Saudi, one way ticket for doing the needful. Their crime is named as "Honeytrap" and now they rightfully eligible for "necktrap".
