Dubai: Kannada book 'Aasare’ Released in Unique Function

Dubai, Jun 12: ‘Aasare’ a successful serial published in Mangalore-based Kannada monthly ‘Anupama’ which was written and compiled as a book by its versatile editor M Shahanaz  was released  in a unique function held on Friday June 6 at Hotel President Dubai.

Writer-Editor Shahanaz and her husband Muthalib are in Dubai to promote this book and the monthly magazine ‘Anupama’

The event was organized by Gulf’s first Kannada news portal http://www.gulfkannadiga.com.

Many literary savvy Kanndadigas, members of various Kannada organizations and the admirers of the writer graced the occasion.

The function started with recital of Quran and invocation.

Past president of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah B K Ganesh Rai welcomed the gathering and invited the guests to the dais. Writer-columnist Irshad Moodbidri greeted the invited guests with bouquet. Secretary of Beary Cultural Forum Dubai Mohammed Shahada introduced the visiting chief guest and writer Shahanz by narrating her accomplishments and accolades.

Past president of Karnataka Sangha Dubai and its patron and president of Beary Cultural forum UAE and a well-known NRI Dr B K Yusuf released the much-awaited Shahanaz's book ‘Aasare’ to the cheer and applause of the august audience. He was accompanied on the stage by the president of Karnataka Sangha Prabhakara Ambalathere, vice-president of BCF M E Muloor, secretary of BCF Dr Kaup Mohammed and Muthalib.

UAE’s well-known Kannada writer and poet Iranna Moolimani reviewed the book ‘Aasare.’

Writer Shahanz in her address thanked the organizers and the lovers of literature who graced the occasion and sleeked more support and patronage for the Kannada monthly magazine ‘Anupama’. She also said that she is overwhelmed by the response to her book ‘Aasare’ and requested the Kannadigas to inculcate the habit of reading quality books and magazines.

M E Muloor and Prabhakara Ambalathere also spoke on the occasion

Director of Kannada daily Vaartha Bharathi and social worker Aforz Asaadi, president of Kannada Koota UAE Arun Muthugadur, fromer general secretary of Karnataka Sangha Dubai B J Somayaji, and up and coming writer Vishwanth and many others graced the occasion.

This unique literary event concluded with apt vote of thanks proposed by Ambalthere.

The programme was well compered by B K Ganesh Rai, organized by GK’s Arshad M H while Afroz Asaadi was the main sponsor of the event.

    The efforts of Mrs Shahanaz and her team in maintaining a classic monthly as ANUPAMA is highly commendable. Aasare is yet another feather in her cap. Heart felt felicitations and MAY ALMIGHTY strengthen her in much more thought provoking contributions to the Kannada literature in future.
