Bangalore, Jun 9: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who finalised allocation of portflios among his cabinet colleagues, has given them charge of districts. For the first time, three ministers C M Udasi, Aravind Limbavali and Krishna Palemar have been made in-charge of two districts each.
The chief minister has retined his home district Shimoga with himself, giving other districts to ministers, as follows:
V S Acharya - Udupi, Krishna J Palemar - Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu, Govind Karjol - Koppal, K S Eshwarappa - Chikmagalur, Mumtaz Ali Khan - Chikballapur, C M Udasi - Haveri and Raichur, Ramachandra Gowda - Mandya, R Ashok - 14 constituencies in Bangalore city, S A Ravindranath - Davangere, Janardan Reddy - Bellary, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri - Uttara Kannada, G Karunakar Reddy - Chitradurga, B N Bache Gowda - Bangalore Rural, Basavaraj Bommai - Belgaum, Shobha Karandlaje - Mysore, B Sriramulu - Gadag, Revu Nayak Belmagi - Bidar, Suresh Kumar - Tumkur, Aravind Limbavali - Bagalkot and Hassan, Krishnaiah Shetty -Kolar, H Halappa - Chamarajnagar, Lakshman Savadi - Gulbarga, Murugesh Nirani - Dharwad, S K Bellubbi - Bijapur,Katta Subrahmanya Naidu - 14 northern constituencies in Bangalore city apart from Ramnagaram.
In the meanwhile, reports have spoken of disgruntlement among several ministes allotted with minor portfolios. The independents who think they are the foundation stones on which the government stands, are peeved at the indiscreet allotment of departments to them that they feel, show them in poor light. It is also said, that some other ministers too are dissatisfied with their departments and planning to discuss the issue with the chief ministers. Only time will tell whether these developments will remain storms in the tea cup or brew into a major controversies.
