Mangalore, Jun 9: "I have noticed a sense of desperation and disappointment among the BJP workers as their expectations that four-time MLA Yogish Bhat would get a prominent position in the governent have been belied. The state government is engaged in a tight rope walk at present and the current situation has forced us to work within the limitations. The party workers need to understand our position. I assure you that Yogish Bhat will be given a position that befits his stature and standing," promised D V Sadanand Gowda, state BJP president.
Gowda was addressing a meeting organized by Mangalore South Assembly Constituency unit of the the party, on Sunday June 8, for thanking the electorate and party workers. The party plans to issue identity cards to the party workers to enable them to meet the higher ups in the state machinery including the chief minister, for appraising them of their problems directly. This will help the concerned to sense the pulse of the people and respond quickly. The cards will be distributed through the presidents of local units of the party and also the legislators, he informed.
State ports, fisheries and small savings minister J Krishna Palemar wholeheartedly thanked the party workers for making the party's victory possible. He assured, that as a minister, he will keep in touch with the district's problems and address them promptly, besides honestly striving for the development of the district.
MLA N Yogish Bhat too expressed his gratitude to the voters and party workers for elevating him and the party to a position of power. I have already submitted a memorandum to the chief minister, apprising him of the problems of Mangalore city like vented dam to mitigate water woes and others. He has promised to act upon the requests, Bhat stated.
Party's district committee president K Monappa Bhandary, general secretary Nalin Kumar Kateel and ex-MLA Kumble Sundar Rao also expressed their indebtedness to the party workers for their work during the recent election. Constituency commiteee president Sathish Prabhu welcomed. Party's Mahila Morcha president Asha Jagadish proposed vote of thanks.
