Bangalore, Jun 8: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations organised by Bangalore Buntara Sangha in the city on Saturday, June 7, has promised to accomodate a Bunt in his cabinet and to provide land for the proposed professional education college in terms of a proposal submitted by the Sangha.
Hailing the Bunts community for their organisational skills and social service, he exhorted the community members to intensify their development initiatives in the state. He extended an open invitation for investments in the state, from investors from other states and abroad. He promised to provide all the facilities that are needed, on the lines of the Gujarat state. We will ensure that the investors do not face hiccups by providing protection and special sops, he said, apart from requesting the Bunts settled elsewhere, to invest in the state, which he said, is a duty they owe to their motherland.
Agreeing that scarcity of honest peoples' representatives has been hindering the progress of the state, he said that he plans to successfully implement development agenda by striking co-ordination between farmers, labourers and the administrators. The chief minister promised to present a people friendly state budget within a month. He also warned the other states not to treat the state's gentlemanly attitude as an invitation to treat it as a soft target.
Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade said, that the personality of a man is measured by what he has done for the society. Like we give time and attention to the families, we should set aside a portion of our time for the society. Bunts have excelled in this field, he felt. Noting that western culture has been overshadowing our country's culture, Heggade requested the elders to provide proper guidance to the youth. Our culture and refinement are the ones that the next generations inherit from us, he noted.
