Bangalore, Jun 8: Lioness Council of district 324D6 organised a colourful annual awards function at the News Hall, Malleswaram in the city on the evening of Saturday, June 7, under the able leadership of the associate chairperson of the council, Lns Manikya Sridhar, secretary Champaka Srinivas and treasurer Girija Shree Rajaram.
Lions district governor Ln P S Venkatachalam mjf was the chief guest, while Ln C N Srinivasan, district chairman for Lioness Clubs presided over the function.
The programme began with welcome address by Ln Srinivasan wherein he heaped praises on all the Lioness Clubs for their dedicated work and social service activities in spite of their household chores.
Lns Manikya Sridhar was full of appreciation for the district governor for providing her with an opportunity to function as the associate chairperson and bring out the best in her. She appreciated all the Lionesses for their whole hearted support and dedication, without which she would not have been able to achieve the set goals.
Ln Venkatachalam in his address, thanked all the members of the Lioness Clubs for their ceaseless service and presented mementoes as a mark of recognition to the successful members. The year was a great one for the Lions movement, he added and gave full credit to the Lionesses for the successful year.
A number of awards were presented to the clubs including best president, secretary and treasurer awards, councillor awards, awards for the services done etc.
Under rural and urban clubs categories, Devanahalli and Sadashivnagar clubs were adjudged as best clubs. Lns Usha Pawar won the best councillor award and Lns Jessie Rodrigues was presented an exclusive award for the publicity of Lions programmes in Daijiworld.com
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by the treasurer Girija, followed by high tea.
