Mangalore, Jun 7: Sahakara Bharati, a non-government organization in the cooperative sector, has pointed out that the names of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are missing from the union government's list of districts eligible for loan waiver.
Speaking at a press meet here on Friday Jun 7, organization president Sanjeev Mathanduru said that the names of the districts are not found in the list released by the union government on its website.
He further said that the cooperative societies and banks have not yet received the full amount from the state government with regard to last year's loan waiver.
Plans are afoot to meet the chief minister to urge the government to release the full amount of Rs 600 crore at the earliest, he said.
The organization, which has about 2,500 members, will begin a membership drive on Thursday June 12 with the intention of increasing the membership to 5,000.
