Bengaluru, Sep 28: Leader of the opposition in legislative assembly, Jagadish Shettar, has branded chief minister, Siddaramaiah as a profound liar.
He said that Sidaramaiah has been telling lies about the money spent by the state government and also about grants received from the centre. He said that the people are not idiots, as the CM seems to think, to believe in these lies.
He explained that as against the chief minister's claim of spending Rs 65,000 crore for irrigation projects, only about 34,000 to 35,000 crore has been spent. "He again misled people by claiming that grant from the centre has become less. But I had given statistics and figures about money received from the centre, and that nearly Rs 5,000 core was received from the department of surface transport alone. The Siddaramaiah did not respond to my figures which means he accepted them as truth. Now he has begun to repeatedly criticize the centre again based on false statements, which has become a habit for him," he stated.
