Bengaluru, Sep 18: St Anne’s Konkan Kutam (SAKK) has been serving the purpose of Konkani speaking people of Marathahalli area in Bengaluru since its inception in 2005. Members have stayed together since then doing some wonderful and meaningful programmes for the Konkani speaking community. The association has seen many wonderful
leaders over the twelve years.
On September 17, SAKK held its 12th AGM and election for the year 2017-18. The proceedings started with the welcome by James Miranda, president of SAKK. Annual report was presented by secretary Jacintha Sequeira. Thereafter, treasurer Roshan D’Costa read the annual financial report. The reports were approved by the members.
Two felicitation programmes followed. The first award was SAKK Education Excellence Award for the students who excelled in the board exam in the last academic year. The award was received by Lanisha Miranda. The second honour was ‘Vorsacho Vyakthi’ (Person of the Year) was conferred to Louis D’souza for his contribution towards SAKK association and society.
Thereafter, the election for the year 2017-18 was conducted by the founder president Col. J B Monis. The newly elected members of the SAKK are as follows:

Cultural Secretary: Austin Mascarenhas
Sports Secretary: Naveen Lewis

Zonal Representatives: Michelle Pinto, Anup Noronha, Inas D’souza, Tony Pinto, James Miranda, J B Monis and Minguel Lobo
After the election, the exiting committee handed over the roles and responsibilities to the new committee. This was symbolically performed by handing over the lighting candle to the new president. As the exiting president thanked for all the support, the new president requested for cooperation from all the members.
Sumptuous lunch was served to all the members and housie housie game was played the after lunch. Winners of the game were given prizes. Rayan Miranda compered the programme and Santhosh Sequeira proposed the vote of thanks.
