Bengaluru: Family not sure about future of tabloid

Bengaluru, Sep 9 (DHNS): Kavitha Lankesh is unsure of the future of Gauri Lankesh Patrike, a weekly tabloid that her elder sister Gauri edited.

Gauri was shot dead on Tuesday in front of her house in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar on the city outskirts.

Kavitha, a filmmaker, told DH, "We have not given any thought on this. But it may not be possible to continue it as it requires a lot of money to sustain it without commercial revenue.''

Gauri struggled a lot to bring out the paper though it was commercially not viable just to keep her father's (late P Lankesh) legacy alive, she said, adding that a decision on the future of the magazine will be taken soon.

Gauri, after falling apart with her brother Indrajeet, started the Gauri Lankesh Patrike in 2005.
