Mangaluru, Aug 31: Heavy downpour that has wreaked havoc on normal life in Mumbai has also affected timings of several trains within the city as destination or passing through it.
Due to heavy rain pounding Mumbai, schedules of Matsyagandha Express train and Mumbai Express trains to the city from Mumbai have gone awry. 'Matsyagandha Express' train No 2619 which was to leave Mumbai at 3.20 am on Tuesday began its onward journey at 4.15 pm on Wednesday. Mumbai Express train between Mumbai terminal and Kankanady Junction which was scheduled to leave at 10 am on Wednesday left the station at 3.30 pm as the station was waterlogged. This train was scheduled to arrive here on Thursday morning.
Officials of the central station here said that timings of trains moving towards Mumbai from here have not undergone any changes. A release stated that the Kankanady Junction-Mumbai CST express train will leave the city at 2 pm on August 31, Ernakulam-L T terminus express will leave at 8 pm on August 31, Kochuveli - Lokamanya Tilak Express will depart at 11.45 pm on August 31 and Ernakulam Junction-Nizamuddin Mangala Express will leave at 4 pm on August 31.
