Bengaluru, Aug 28: Karnataka government’s Tourism Department will be shortly launching a Dasara Special Tour Package in the Golden Chariot Luxury Train to promote the State’s famous Dasara festival.
Golden Chariot is the South India’s first and only luxury tourist train run by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC).
With its exquisite accommodation, décor inspired by dynasties from Karnataka’s past, fine dining and service by liveried attendants, the Golden Chariot promises to provide the experience the rich heritage of Karnataka and feel royalty on wheels to its tourists.
Karnataka’s Minister for IT/BT and Tourism Priyank Kharge on Monday said the State Government appreciated the KSTDC’s initiative and mentioned that it would provide an excellent opportunity to people to experience royalty on board, which would showcase the Nadahabba, Mysuru Dasara and its grandeur.
"This would be a unique opportunity for people to witness Dasara as a royal guest and also experience the great train journey at a subsidized cost,’’ he said.
The Dasara Special trips include two nights and a day package on affordable and subsided rates.
Golden Chariot has 44 luxury cabins which can accommodate 88 people. The two nights and one day package is priced at 25,000 per person for Indians and Rs.40, 000 for Foreigners.
The package is inclusive of accommodation, meals, sight-seeing and Mysuru Palace events.
The first trip will from September 23 to 25 and the second will be from September 29 to October 1.
The train will depart from Yeshwanthpur railway station in the night on the first day of journey to Mysuru and back to Bengaluru on the third day early morning.
KSTDC has planned curated royal walk to enable guests to explore the heritage rich city of Mysuru. The guests will be offered with the Gold pass for witnessing of the Dasara and cultural programmes in front of the illuminated Mysuru Palace.
It will be a wonderful experience of royal life on Golden Chariot by indulging your taste buds with both Indian ethnic cuisines and continental culinary delights on board.
