Bantwal: Branch office of ‘Daivik Amrith’ inaugurated at B C Road

Bantwal, Aug 26: The new branch office of Konkani spiritual monthly ‘Daivik Amrith’ was inaugurated at B C Road on Friday, August 25. 

Inaugurating the office, Pius L Rodrigues, director, Pollution Control Board said, “Media is a strong weapon in a republic system. It always reflects the voice and opinions of common people. Knowledge sharing is another benefit of media.”

“Konkani monthly magazine ‘Daivik Amrith’ mainly publishes religious news and articles. Social issues too are published occasionally in this magazine. Within a short span of time since the first publication, the publishers have successfully opened a branch here. It shows the growth of the magazine. On this occasion, I congratulate the publisher, editor and the staff. Hope it will be helpful to the readers, advertisers and the well-wishers from Bantwal region,” he added.

Fr Andrew D’Souza, convener of ‘Daivik Amrith’ said, “We started the magazine 12 years ago. There was no looking back after that. Along with spiritual articles, we did some social work by organizing various programmes. ‘Daivik Amrith’ also holds tours to Holy Land. We distribute the extra money left from the tours among the poor and needy. The magazine also helps poor children’s education, and sick and elder people to get medicines. Hence, through the magazine, we are serving the society at large.”

Earlier, Fr Maxim Noronha blessed the new office. Fr Andrew welcomed the gathering and the dignitaries. Santhosh Lobo compered the event. Richard Alvares delivered the vote of thanks.

Fr Jerald Lobo, Fr Vinod Lobo, Fr Amith Rodrigues, and Fr Jaison Lobo were present.
