Mangaluru, Aug 23: It is gathered that the fact finding committee that was proposed to be formed to consider all aspects and make suitable recommendation relating to the issue of renaming of Light House Hill Road stretch from Jyoti to Catholic Club as Mulky Sunder Ram Shetty Road, is yet to formally meet although it was formed over two weeks back. The problem, it transpires, is that a decision about who would be the fourth member of the committee has not been sorted out.

At the meeting held to thrash out the issue on August 4, the matter of stay order given against renaming of the road was discussed and the deputy commissioner had said that the committee of four members would submit its report in 15 days.

It was announced that registrar of Mangaluru University, professor in history department, additional deputy commissioner, and city corporation commissioner would be the members of the committee. Out of them, the district administration had written to the university asking it to suggest the name of history professor who could be made a member of this committee. There is no further development on the issue, no meeting is held, and fact-finding stands where it is, as the fourth member has not been decided.
