Elders of Konkani community felicitated by CKA Dasarahalli

Bengaluru, Aug 18: The Catholic Konkani Association (CKA) of T Dasarahalli in Bengaluru celebrated the 70th Independence Day of the country in a special manner by felicitating the Elders of the Konkani community through their 'Malgadyank Maan' programme at the Crystal Party Hall in T Dasarahalli. 

The newly elected President of CKA Anthony Gonsalves deserves credit for special event to provide an atmosphere of festive fervour and celebration to the elderly members of the association.  

Fr Roshan D’souza of Udupi Diocese, Charles Gomes, a former President of FKCA and Richard Louis, a popular actor and writer, were among the other special guests who attended the programme.

As many as 105 elders and also the CKA committee members were present on the occasion. All the elders were extended special greetings.

The day began with a Eucharistic Celebration with Fr Roshan D’souza as the main celebrant.

Fr Roshan in his address, stressed the important role played by the elders in a family and their guidance to uplift the spiritual values in the family.

Anthony Gonsalves, welcomed all the guests. Charles Gomes, chief guest urged the elders to follow healthy habits in order to lead a happier life.

The senior most member of the association, Benedict Coutinho, was felicitated and all other members were presented with a memento.

Richard Louis, a stand-up comedian, entertained the entire gathering with humour.

Vincent D’Souza, Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.
