KNS conducts 54th inter-parish singing competition

Mangaluru, Aug 15: Konkani Natak Sabha®, on Sunday, August 13, organised the 54th inter-parish singing competition for the age group of above 15 years of different parishes of Mangaluru diocese at Don Bosco Hall here.

The competition was inaugurated by Comedy King Adolphus Cutinha, popular as Dolla, Mangaluru, by lighting the lamp along with president Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza and office bearers.

The competition was held in two parts. One for out of city parishes and the other for city parishes.


    






























































94 competitors from thirteen parishes took part in the out of city parishes for the solo, duet, mixed group and married couple segments. Permude, Fajir and Nithyadhar parish bagged the first, second and third place respectively. Nithyadhar Nagar parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among out of city parishes.

Among the city parishes, 78 competitors from eleven parishes took part in solo, duet, mixed group and married couple segments. Bajjodi, Derebail and Bejai parishes bagged the first, second and third place respectively. Cordel parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among city parishes.

Jude Fernandes, Alwyn D’Cunha and Meera Crasta were the judges.

President Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha and Jossy Theodore compered. General Secretary Judi D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Jossy Theodore introduced the judges, and convenor Floyd D’Mello announced the results.
 
Out of city parishes

Ladies Solo: Christal Pinto, Permude, stood first, Lavita D’Souza, Permannur, came second, and Ashel Mascarenhas, Nithyadarnagar, third.

Gents Solo: second ,Preetham D’Souza, Fajir, secured first place, Rolston Pinto Nithyadarnaga came second, and Sampath Goveas Bantwal, third.

Ladies Duet : Asha D’Souza and Christle Pinto, Permude, stood first, Nelisha Carvalho and Ashel Mascarenhas, Nithyadhar Nagar, came second, and  Jovita D’Souza and Densita D’Souza Permannur, third.

Gents duet:Jelroy Vas and Sudeep Gonsalves, Neermarga, secured first place, Joyson Lobo and Preetham D’Souza, Fajir came second, and Vinod Pinto and Francis Fernandes, Permude, third.

Mixed Group: Melroy Menezes and Group, Permude,stood first, Joyson Lobo and group, Fajir came second, and Sampath Goveas and group, Bantwal, third.

Married Couple: Vinod Crasta and Gretta Pinto, Permude, secured first place, Manoj D’Souza and Vilma Lobo, Fajir, came second, and Martin and Leena D’Souza, Nithyadhar Nagar, third.

Among city parishes

Ladies Solo: Clerita Lobo Bajjodi, stood first, Sonal Monteiro, Cordel,came second,and Diyol D’Souza, Bondel, third.

Gents Solo: Gyavin Immanuel Menezes, Derebail, secured first place, Elton Pinto Bajjodi, came second, and Samson Ervin Coelho Cascia

Ladies Duet: Seema Carlo and Clerita Lobo Bajjodi, stood first, Caren Correa and Evon Sequeira, Derebail came second, and Sonal Monteiro and Maria Vas Cordel, third.

Gents Duet: Brandon Braganza and Leslie D’Cruz Bajjodi, secured first place, Samson Coelho and Anil Roopesh D’Souza Cascia came second, Edrin D’Cunha and Sanil D’Souza Cordel, third.

Mixed Group: Denora Fernandes and group, Derebail, stood first, Neel Rasquinha and group, Bejai, came second,  and Anil D’Cunha and group, Cordel, third.

Married Couple: Lancy and Mabel Menezes, Bejai, secured first place, Norman and Lydia D’Souza, Cascia came second, and Kevin and Eline Pinto, Cordel, third.
