Puttur, Aug 8: A resident of Addagadde, Kadaba in the taluk, has filed a complaint at Kadaba police station alleging that a journalist residing at Kallugudde, Khader Saheb, and his wife, Ameena, have been inflicting mental torture on her husband by spreading false rumours about him with the objective of sullying his reputation in the society. The complainant has been identified as Sini Jose, wife of Samuel Jose.

Sini Jose has now filed a counter complaint against Khader Saheb and his wife, in response to a complaint registered by Ameena, suspecting involvement of Samuel Jose in an incident of alleged sorcery after finding a gherkin pierced with a thorn having been deposited outside the gate of her residence.

Sini Jose said that Khader is jealous at the fact that Samuel has been undertaking development initiatives in a land he had bought from Khader at Kallugudde in the past. She claimed that Khader also had given false information to media persons in order to defame her husband and that he also has been using his influence to pressurize the officers to register cases against her husband and herself. "Clandestinely, plans have been drawn to get a dalit organization unconnected with this incident, to mount offensive against my husband and me. Complaint of sorcery registered against Samuel is false and we are prepared to take any kind of vow to vouch for the truthfulness of this statement in the presence of any religious place. We need justice. Mental torture against my husband should stop," she requested in her complaint.
