Mumbai, Aug 6 (TOI): Even as the August 5 deadline went by, 55% of the results are yet to be declared by Mumbai University. Interestingly, the university now claims there is no real deadline to release the rest of the results.
Of the 477 exams that the university held this summer, results of 268 were released till Saturday. On Saturday, the university released results of 11 courses. Interestingly, it is now not clear if the university will be able to adhere to the August 15 deadline, a date that university officials now claim they never set as a deadline.
"Although a section of the press claimed that the governor had extended the deadline from July 31 to August 5, there was no real note from Raj Bhavan," said a university official. "Again, no one even claimed that August 15 is the next deadline," he added.
Several students organisations that had met vice chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh claimed that he had mentioned that all results would be declared by August 15. "But with the speed at which assessment is on currently, it may not be possible to declare all results and process the marks sheets by then," said an officer.
Meanwhile, the deadline for submitting the forms for admission to MSc -part 1 courses at Mumbai University has been extended to August 19 from August 8. The deadline has been extended for those wanting to join pursue zoology, botany, biochemistry, microbiology and chemistry and physics in aided courses.
