Mangaluru, Aug 4: The third edition of eTIME-2017: FDP and National Conference on Emerging Trends in Mechanical Engineering, organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, in association with Scientific and Academic Publishing – United States, was inaugurated on Friday August 4 at 9:30 am in Spoorthi Hall in the College Campus.
Inaugurating the conference, chief guest of the ceremony, Dr JM Mallikarjuna, professor from IIT – Madras, spoke about the relevance of the conference, highlighting the need for institutions and faculty to be in in touch with the rapidly evolving technologies.
Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Principal – SJEC, in his address cited the 100% renewable energy status of Germany and highlighted the need for developing sustainable technology.
In his presidential address, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, congratulated the department on its achievement and spoke about the need to strive towards achieving bigger things and to not let small achievements stagnate with its smaller glories.
Dr Sudheer M, professor and head of the Mechanical Engineering department and Dr Shreeranga Bhat, organizing secretary of eTIME-2017 were also present on the occasion.
