Mangaluru, Aug 1: A student, who was pursuing MD (pathology) postgraduate degree course in a medical college in the city committed suicide by slitting his throat with a blade in his hostel room. He has been identified as H K Prasad (28) from Davangere district.
Prasad, a final year of postgraduate degree course, stayed alone in his hostel room. On Sunday, his family members who called him, failed to get any response. Growing apprehensive, they called college authorities on Monday morning. Staff of the college administration visited his hostel room and found that Prasad had ended his life.
It is said that Prasad was in a depressed state of mind since the last some months, and was being treated for this problem. In a death note left behind, he is found to have written that he was leaving everything behind. A case about the incident stands registered in Pandeshwar police station here, and investigation is being undertaken.
