Udupi: Bhadravathi police deputed for CM's security injured in accident

Udupi, Jul 8: Members of police team from Bhadravahi that had been deputed to Mangaluru to provide security during chief minister, Siddaramaiah's visit there, were injured in an accident. The vehicle hit an electric pole near Bannanje Lord Mahalingeshwara temple here on the morning of Friday July 7.

The policemen have escaped with minor injuries in this accident.
 


Police sub-inspector of old town station in Bhadravathi, Shivaprasad, staff, Santosh, Anil Kumar, Giridhar, Nagana Gowda, and driver, Preetham, were travelling by the car which met with an accident here. As the injuries suffered by police were minor in nature, they were provided with treatment at the government hospital at Ajjarkad here.

The team, it is learnt, had left at around 9.30 pm on Thursday. The vehicle was passing through Bannanje at about 5.30 am on Friday when a dog crossed its path all of a sudden. When the driver applied brake all of a sudden, tyres of the vehicle burst after the vehicle hit the roadside electric pole. After the accident, the policemen's deputation for CM's security duty was cancelled.
