Mangaluru, Jul 7: "This is a city of educated people. People here respect law and are peace loving. A handful of them are joining hands with political powers and inciting communal violence with the objective of spreading terror in society. Police are now people-friendly, and the days of fearing the police are gone. People can always come up with information about any incident or any suspicion they have, with the police openly," said city police commissioner, T R Suresh. He was speaking after presiding over the general body meeting of citizen members of 63 new beat teams falling under the city (north) station, which was held at Loyolla Hall of St Aloysius College in the city on Thursday, July 6.
