Bengaluru, Jul 6: A second year engineering student, who walking on the road, was allegedly stabbed by a jilted lover on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in Annapurneshwari Nagar police station limits at 8 am on Wednesday.
According to police, the girl, a second-year BE student, was walking on the road when a bike halted near her. The youth riding pillion on the bike stabbed the girl's hand several times and drove off with the bike rider.
The victim sustained injuries on her hand and was rushed to hospital by onlookers.
It is learnt that one of the youth was known to the victim and had been harassing her for a long time. The youth had demanded the victim to marry him but the girl had turned him down.
Following the rejection, the youth had even called her mother six months ago and asked her to get the two married. But the mother too refused.
The youth had reportedly called the victim again last week and threatened her. Police said the youth might have attacked the victim as he had no success in convincing them.
