Mangaluru, Jul 4: Winning another laurel for the coastal region, Shaasthra Shetty, the scintillating beauty from Udupi, was crowned 'Miss Teen Grand Sea Asia 2017' in one of the world’s prestigious beauty pageants 'Miss and Mr Grand Sea 2017' held at Sofia, Bulgaria recently.

Along with Miss Teen Grand Sea Asia, Shaasthra Shetty bagged the Best National Costume, Best Talent and Miss Impressive 2017 titles.

Shaasthra Shetty hails from Udupi and is the proud daughter of Shashi Shetty and Sharmila Shetty. Presently, Shaasthra is pursuing media and communications at the School of Communication, Manipal University.

Beauty pageant crowns are not new to Shaasthra. She won Miss Karavali Style Icon organized by Arun Alva Art Academy, she also emerged winner in 'Miss Mangalore' contest organized by Infinity Entertainment through which she got direct entry to Miss South India which is scheduled to be held in January 2018.

But it's not all about modeling for Shaasthra. A multi-talented lass, she was actively participating in college-level competitions and was among the eight finalists in 'Speak for India' national-level debate competition organized by Federal Bank and telecast on Times Now. She wants to become an IFS officer.

In the recently concluded pageant in Bulgaria, Shaasthra faced tough competition with contestants from 30 countries including South Africa, Brazil, Myanmaar, Hungary, Austria among others.

Speaking to daijiworld, Shaasthra Shetty said, "Miss Asia is a competition wherein they select equally out of all the Asian countries which have represented in pageants, so winning the crown from among contestants from an entire continent is really special. It is not that easy to win and getting it on an international platform is a big deal. I won two other main sub-titles, Best Talent and Best National Costume which were separate contests. Winning those contests was indeed special.

"It's not easy as you go out there and there are talented people from all over the world. Winning the Best National Costume title was an honour because you are representing your country’s essence culturally on an international platform," she said.

On winning the title of Miss Impressive, she said, "This was based on our personality. I think it’s a good title to win because they think your personality is impressive. I am happy with all the four titles that I won. Next I will be representing Mangaluru in Miss South India pageant which will be held in January 2018."
