Mangalore, Apr 17: Police team headed by Bunder inspector Umesh G Shet has been successful in solving a theft case within 24 hours, on Thursday, April 17.
The police arrested a certain Yamuna, resident of Badami and her husband Bheemappa in this connection and seized gold ornaments worth Rs 70,000. The couple stole these ornaments from a flat in Mannagudde.
A complaint was lodged at Barke police station in this regard and police carried out investigation as per the information furnished by the flat owner. They cracked the case within a day and arrested Yamuna, who was serving as a housemaid. Later they recovered gold ornaments from her house located at Jalligudde. They even arrested her husband Bheemappa who helped her in the act.
Sub inspectors Narayan Baindoor and Ramachandra Nayak, head constable Mohandas, women constables Jalajakshi and Pramodini and constables Santhosh Padil, Santhosh Sasihitlu and Satish M R were involved in this operation.
